I once spent a year in
“W.C. Fields”
Ya know,,,,just because You travel,,,it doesn’t mean things are wild, fun, and crazy. A highlight of our next few days of travel was the Lakeview Inn.
This is a place where a family decided to make their own paradise
,,,and they have. Nestled into a corner of (Ha Ha) lake, it is a clean,
beautiful country place. It’s really not Ha Ha Lake,,,that’s the ancient name.
It’s now called
Now,,,to the bay of Fundy. As You know,,,,our goal was to see this amazing phenomena of the tidal change and all that goes with that. This giant bay rises and falls by more than 50 vertical feet of water twice a day with the tide. These giant Lobster boats are floating up to where You have to climb up and on to them,,,,,
Come back that evening and they are sitting down below you in the mud. It is dramatic and surreal
We stayed in downtown Alma,,, and I use the word downtown
loosely. A Gem was the Parkside inn. Super clean rooms with a great shower, and
the best,,,best,,,seafood we were lucky enough to try twice. That’s where the
fun ends,,,,,,it’s boring here in a mono scenic sort of way,,,the village and
or party life is either hidden well or non-existent. We waited patiently for
the new day to go and visit
Perhaps we are jaded by too much travel, but the rocks were interesting for about five minutes. If You factor in the long lines of people, the money, the long walk on dirty steps, and the mud, mud, mud that you are not told about until you see the “Mud Cleaning station”,,,,well,,,,You get the point.
All things Northeast Canadian considered,,,,,we are outta here,,,,,We never thought of ourselves as high maintenance or needy but M is starting to repeat stupid things over and over and I think I need a drink. When your best laugh of the day is the name of a local lobster joint,,,,,it’s time to move on.
We need crazy Americans and different looking trees and,,,,and,,,,well,,,we just need to be on the road again!
"Once you have traveled, the voyage
never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers. The
mind can never break off from the journey."
